Alvis baby's final vaccination with DR. Low

Today was Alvis baby's last vaccination schedule with DR. Low... It was for his 2nd dose of Hepatitis A.

Appointment was at 12.30pm, initially wanted to go to Henderson Waves in the morning but we were a little behind schedule, so we skipped that. :)

Went to 幸福饮茶 at International Building for our lunch.. Was craving for dim-sum and didn't want to have Crystal Jade cuz kinda bored with it already.. :P
It was less crowded at 幸福饮茶 and I would say we definitely think that they serve better dim sum! Even their fried rice wasn't oily and service was good.

Mommy's boy
Photobucket

My big boy. 27months already. Cannot believe it.
Photobucket

Photobucket

When asked to take a photo with Daddy, the boy in his terrible-twos stage pushed the Daddy away...
Photobucket

"YOU GONNA GET IT FROM ME"
Photobucket

"UH-OH BETTER ACT PITIFUL...."
Photobucket

Food can make him one obedient boy..
Photobucket

"Daddy, peanut very nice leh" (yea, with the 'leh')
Photobucket

"OK! I can take photo with Daddy already!"
Photobucket
My two super precious. <3

Strongly recommend their har-kau, char siew buns, egg tarts.. the usual dim sum but definitely one of the best..
Photobucket

He was munching his char siew bun, yummy stuff..
Photobucket

Photobucket

Folding his arms, imitating Pocoyo when he was angry...
Photobucket

Watch too much tv, sometimes abit over-drama mama.. heh heh..

"I want to hold the camera!"
Photobucket

Yea, dream on. As if Daddy would let you touch it. hahahaha... The old spoilt one maybe, but definitely not this one.

Finished our lunch at a comfortable pace, then walked over to Paragon for 12.30pm appointment.. Like that warm feeling of being greeted with the familiar faces.. it's been 2 years already.. Ever since the day Alvis was born, DR. Low has always been there.. I still can remember the day after I delivered, DR. Low came into our ward and introduced himself. His humble smile and sincerity, I felt it right from Day 1. That is why I decided to stick with him, for all the so many vaccination, compulsory and optional ones, and not forgetting the times when Alvis baby fell sick, we traveled the distance to consult him too.

I can also never forget how he showed his care and concern for Alvis baby when he was merely 1-2months old.. He caught a flu virus, was coughing and phlegmy. We were heartbroken, upset and worried. We stayed at Thomson Medical Centre for 4days with Alvis baby and put him under DR. Low's observation. Couldn't thank him enough for his medical advices, assurance and support during that period of time. I must admit I couldn't had felt more assured and am still very grateful today.

I will also always remember the countless times I called up the clinic when Alvis baby was unwell, to ask this and that, and Regina (the staff at the clinic) and DR. Low would do all they can to assure me and answer to my questions, and also call me back to ask if Alvis was better.

As we walked into his consultation room today, as usual, we were greeted by his warm smile and humble voice.. I always like the way he interacts with Alvis baby, how he, through his questions and actions, try to find out on Alvis baby's growth development.. Never was he stern nor harsh.. Alvis baby was a little shy, but still able to converse with DR. Low and with all the distractions, that needle went right in. Alvis baby turned to look at his thigh, as DR. Low pasted that big bright blue Mickey Mouse plaster on his chubby thigh, and he looked away, without a sound. Both me and Hubby were proud, and very pleased. DR. Low's words to Alvis baby was "You are so brave!"

Alvis baby hugged DR. Low, shook his hands and thanked him. We are very honoured and thankful that we have him as Alvis' PD.

There, Alvis baby was issued this Certificate of Vaccination upon completion. The next jab will be when he's 6 years old and the staff at the clinic told me that will be done in school.

Thank you, DR. Low. You are the best!

First Rice Meal I Prepared For A...

It's the first rice meal I prepared for A but definitely not his first rice meal of course. He has been having rice for his dinners at my ah-yi's place.. I was there the evening my cousin went back to Jakarta, so I fed Alvis baby his rice dinner and I can tell how much he enjoys his food..

I've always prepared his porridge on weekends, until these 2 weekends, he started to get bored with his porridge towards the end of his meals.. He would usually eat quite alot of porridge, but lately I've noticed the obvious change. It's not a bad change though. He's a growing boy and I'm glad he has learnt to eat rice and is taking it very well.. of course because my ah-yi is a good cook. :)

So today, I've decided to give it a try. I don't cook that often and before I was married, I totally didn't cook at all. Yea, like a pampered spoilt princess. haha. I was pretty nervous today. I didn't want to fail and I didn't want to see Alvis baby not enjoy his dinner. I sourced for recipes, ideas on preparing healthy dishes. I even started very early, like at 3+pm!

First, I prepared his soup. I feel that soup is very important to complete a balanced and nutritious meal. I wanted to do ABC Soup but if you know me, I am usually a little 'greedy'. When preparing Alvis baby's porridge, I always drown the whole pot with ingredients, you can't barely see the rice grains.. So besides potatoes, carrots in his ABC soup, I've added celery, baby pork ribs, pumpkin. The soup tasted heavenly. :)

While waiting for the soup to boil and simmer, I steamed his rice. Turned out to be a little wet though, but I'm sure it's better than too hard else he might have a hard time chewing..

Lastly, it was the steam fish.. It's always either cod fish, salmon or threadfin for Alvis baby. I feel salmon taste best when baked, so Alvis baby doesn't eat alot of salmon. More of cod fish and threadfin.. I placed carrot strips and small pieces of organic xiao bai cai together with some shitake mushrooms on top of the slice of threadfin and steam at high temperature for about 10-15minutes.

Alvis baby loves the steam fish with the veggies, he finished the rice and that dish. Didn't finish the soup cuz too big pot I've prepared. :P

Baby, mommy's really proud of you today, like always! <3

Mommy will learn more healthy recipes to prepare more nutritious meals for you darling. :)

Proud of you, son!

Alvis baby had used to dislike hair-cut sessions, he cried, weeped, wriggled, protested each time we brought him for a haircut..

Today, he really made me and hubby very very pleased and proud.
He only slightly protested at the door of the salon, said "No" once and he willingly let me carried him into the salon.
I sat him on the armchair, after which the hairdresser brought a booster seat and I told him that he's now a big boy and he needs to sit on that chair alone without mommy hugging onto him, and that jie-jie will give him a handsome haircut and he must not move.

He also willingly let the hairdresser put on that cape over him and he grinned at himself in the mirror. To reward his well behavior, he was given Daddy's iPhone to watch Pocoyo during the haircut. :)

He didn't move his butt a single inch and didn't make any noise throughout. When I asked him to look into his reflection and if he liked his hairstyle, he nodded his head and gave me his most charming smile.

Not only these, he thanked the hairdresser and walked out of the salon proudly. He knew he had done a great job.

Baby, Daddy & Mommy are very proud of you today. Mommy must blog this down so that we will always remember the scene at the salon today, you in that cape full of fishes, I know you like it. :)

Looks like we can make more frequent visits to the hairdresser now, and Mommy no longer has to fear that you'll make a big scene at the salon and I no longer have to hug you and get all the hair stuck in my shirt anymore.

Love you darling, big kiss from Daddy & Mommy, MUACKS!

A simple Saturday with lotsa love...

W.E.E.K.E.N.D = Love + Fun + Family Time

I can't explain how much I love weekends.. It's the time when I get to spend every single minute with Alvis baby.. I shower him, I read, I play and I laugh with him. I prepare his meals, feed him and I get to teach him new things... Most of my weekends are spent with Alvis baby alone. Because Hubby only gets a few weekends off in a month, so it's usually just me and A. When Hubby works morning shift, we get to meet him in town and have dinner and spend the evening together, and when he works afternoon shift, we have breakfast and spend the morning together. :)

Today he was in the morning shift, left home while me and Alvis baby was still sleeping.. :P Our day passed pretty quickly.. Went to the market, went to the supermarket then home to prepare Alvis' lunch. Fed him and it was almost naptime. He napped from 2.30pm till 5.05pm, yea, it was a pretty long one. I like it when he has a long nap prior to going to town to meet Daddy because we are most likely out till 9+ or 10pm, and that is his weekdays bedtime. So I always make sure he gets enough nap before we go to town to meet Daddy then he won't be tired and cranky. :)

Alvis baby knew just where to go after he alighted at the taxi stand at Ngee Ann City. Down the escalator and you could see him running to the boutique and waiting to see his Daddy coming through that door. :P
Dinner was a simple one at Food Republic. We all had double-boiled soup with rice.
Daddy took some pictures of Alvis baby while I was buying food. Love every single photo captured. :)

Photobucket

These days if we dine out and the tables are appropriate, Alvis baby gets to sit with us without the highchair. I feel that he is a big boy already and he should be given this kind of freedom once in awhile and not always get strapped up like a baby. Not that he runs around and moves alot during mealtimes also. Just that you can expect me to be paying extra attention to where he lays his hands on and you will definitely see me cleaning that table squeaky clean with my all-time-handy-tool: the wet tissue. :P

I love this picture the most:

Cheeky boy.
Photobucket

Photobucket

OK! Enough already! I want my food!
Photobucket

Alvis baby chewed his rice faster than he eats his porridge these days. He just simply loves rice and he can eat lots of it. All thanks to my dearest ah-yi who feeds him so well. All the delicious meals she always prepares, our Alvis baby is so well-fed. :) Really can't thank her enough...

Walked along the streets after dinner and Alvis baby spotted a gigantic mushroom at Prada!

Photobucket

So cute. The mushroom and my boy. :P
Photobucket

Photobucket

Want take with mommy also...
Photobucket

Photobucket

Hubby also got to put his camera to good use.. :P
Photobucket

and some other pictures were taken. I'll leave it to him if he wants to publish them. :)

Photobucket

nothing to be proud of eh? :P

Went to Toys 'R' Us at Forum because I reckoned the one at Paragon would be crowded. Don't really like the rowdy kids runnning around so we avoided that.. True enough, it was as quiet as a closed shop. haha.. we walked peacefully in it and played with the toys.. Bought another Lamborghini Gallardo for Alvis baby.. Can't explain why he loves cars so much and how he remembers all the car models so well and fast. I can only say it runs in the blood. :) Maybe I should do a wall chart of all the car models so he can look at it for a good few hours.

Boys should love cars, shouldn't they? :P And if I were to have a daughter some day, I would like her to be a little vainpot like I used to be when I was young (not that I am not vain now! :P), and loves barbie dolls like how I used to love all my collections. AND that is if I have a girl! Though Alvis baby has expressed quite strongly that he would prefer a lil brother over a lil sister, he also said that he would protect a lil sister more than a lil brother. hahaha...
Just some casual chats we have with him during playtimes, where the 3 of us sit on that 1 very mat. :)

Before you know it... It's almost Monday already.... Are you feeling the blues already.... well... I am.. NOT! because I am on leave on Monday!! YAYs! Alvis baby is having his final vaccination schedule with DR. Low, and that's for Hep A. If I don't remember it wrongly, it should be a booster jab? Need to check that health booklet. Too pampered by the staff at the clinic who always help with scheduling appointments and sending SMSes to remind me 3 days before that.

Agenda for tomorrow:
- hair cut for Alvis baby (I hope he won't go "NO NO NO" at the salon tomorrow)
- visit 外公 (and if he can lend his hands to me, maybe I should trim my hair too)
- maybe indoor playground with Alvis baby, just the two of us?
- gonna try whipping up a yummy and healthy dinner for Alvis baby. needa learn to prepare a few dishes for him to go with his fluffy white steam rice (do share with me recipes at mrskdseah@gmail.com ! thank you!!)

Tomorrow Daddy is in the noon shift, so breakfast together! Yipee!
It's gonna be a Happy Sunday! :D

A fun evening at T3

Hubby picked Alvis baby up and waited for me at my office..
My battery was draining and I super needed them to recharge me.. They did that right after I stepped out of my office lobby because they greeted me just right at the front porch.
Both of them were standing by the roadside, identifying each car that zoomed by. These days, Alvis baby gets more interested with car models and he can pronounce any car brand and model. You name it, he will say it after you. What's more difficult than Lam-bor-ghi-ni? Haha! He not only knows how to pronounce that k, he knows how to IDENTIFY one. :P

Anyway, we headed to Changi Airport Terminal 3 again. heh..

Was given this Yan-Yan mango flavor at work.. Brought it back to share with Alvis baby.. :) He ate most of it though.

Photobucket

This guy here just loves to look at water fountains..
He got himself first row best seat. haha. with snack some more!

Photobucket

Alright, Mommy says dinnertime, because Mommy was famished. haha.
Alvis baby helped to pack up and leaving the water fountain.. Said bye and see you later (and he was referring to after our dinner)..

Photobucket

I am a great help!
Helping Daddy with the camera bag..

Photobucket

Mommy: "Too long, baby"

And he did this himself.

Photobucket

Mommy: "Aiyo, how to walk like that? You sure topple over and fall!"

Photobucket

Ok lor, no choice, got to hand-carry when you can't check in your luggage. haha!

Photobucket

"Mommy, biscuit please!"

Photobucket

I eat wherever I go.

Photobucket

Don't worry, I can manage.

Photobucket

Just go and stop snapping.

Photobucket

See, I can manage fine.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We had dinner at their foodcourt for the first time and there was a real wide variety of food. Not too bad as well, will definitely be back.

Alvis baby munching on biscuits while waiting for us to clear our plates.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Small last piece for Mommy.
Photobucket

Claimed to be the tallest slide.

Photobucket

Photobucket

No idea how it feels like to slide through there though! haha..

Wanted to go to the viewing mall.. Passed by this Volvo car on display. Alvis baby went crazy. haha. He loves car as much as his Daddy does.

Photobucket

Car Show Models???

Photobucket

Solo..

Photobucket

Photobucket

Requested Mommy to be with him again..

Photobucket

"I want to touch the headlight"

Photobucket

CHEEEESSSEEEEE

Photobucket

Alvis: "Oh! They have this at the playground too!"

Photobucket

Same same but different.. Cannot hang and cannot swing leh...

Photobucket

Try again!

Photobucket

Fail.
Hug the pole is easier.

Photobucket

Touch headlight one last time before we said bye to the car.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Happy Alvis baby. :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Playing what he likes best. We always do this outside Tiffany shop while waiting for Daddy. As long as there's a pillar, we can do it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'm sure you know what we were doing!

Photobucket

Had lotsa laughter just at that very pillar. :) Simply love it. Those laughters are priceless.

Browsed some books at Times and we decided to call it a day..
It was a fun evening spent together, I was tired but very happy. It is something that I look forward to every evening after work, if only Hubby gets to work morning shifts on the days he is not off. Evenings like this is so precious and memorable, just a few hours of time spent together can be so happy and blissful.

Looking forward to the next family bonding time, again. :)
