I wanted to update my blog but after watching a few videos on the Manila hostage, I totally don't have any mood to do so.

I'll be back tomorrow.

R.I.P, the innocent casualties of the hostage. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims.

Bits and Pieces of July & August

I usually blog only photos from my camera and upload photos from my iPhone to my FB account. It's more convenient to upload to FB because I do not have a blogging app on my mobile and that doesn't mean that I got nothing to share on a daily basis. :) I am going to try to update my blog with pictures taken with my iPhone on a more regular basis. :)

Snapshots of Alvis baby these 2 months.. Sometimes it's just so much easier to snap with your phone, now that our camera belongs to the "bulky" category. :P no more "compact" and "portability" (but that also doesn't mean that I am complaining about the size of the camera, we love every single bit of quality it produces).

Anyhow, here's sharing images I captured of our Alvis baby: Love him being cheeky at times, love his smile.

More of Alvis baby... <3

Yes, I tied a little ponytail for him last night just for fun and defintely just for laughs. :P His hair is pretty long now and he himself would laugh each time he looks at the photos. But Alvis baby is definitely one proud boy. He certainly knows that it wasn't the right thing to do on a boy thus he removed the rubber band immediately after I was done with photo-taking. :) And there you have a spinach-cap boy as well. He loves to play with real vegetables now since I introduced it to him last month.
On weekends home alone with Alvis baby, I have to prepare his meals and keep him entertained. He can play and do things on his own but nowadays he loves to interact and converse with people. So he can't be left alone for too long else he'll look me up in the kitchen. I gave him some spinach to cut and chop with his pretend play cooking set and he can really sit on his own for a long time. :) I would also pop in and out of the hall checking on him and talk to him abit before I return to the kitchen for cooking.

and of course, a little of myself.. :P
I rarely take photos of myself, let alone say nice ones. haha. These are the almost only few I have these couple of months of myself. Every woman is vain, isn't it? Hee..

Photobucket

Knowing how to make yourself look your best is important. It makes the people around you and yourself feel pleasant. Of course having a good heart is the most important, but many a times, first impression counts yea? :P

Something that I'm pretty happy about: Woke up earlier that morning and decided to make pancakes for my two darlings for breakfast. I always hesitate to buy those frozen pancakes because they just don't shout out "fresh". :P (ya, McDonald's these days uses frozen pancakes too :( ) So I made our own fresh and healthy pancakes from the pan without a single drop of oil or butter, purely just F R E S H pancakes. :)

Photobucket

They tasted as good as they look. Served with caramel/maple syrup (only for me and Hubby with a few drips on Alvis' pancakes), we finished them all before we left home sweet home. Happy to the max the moment I stepped out of the house with a super filled tummy. If I were a SAHM, I would love to make breakfast for them everyday. But since I am not, I will definitely try my best to wake up early and make us healthy breakfast for a good kickstart to the day.

The weekend is here again! With a slight sorethroat and a slight running nose, I hope I will feel better when I wake up in the morning. Nothing can ruin my weekend and for the very first time I want to say that I am looking forward to Monday (of course NOT the returning to work part :P but because our new sofa and oven will be arriving!)

At this very moment, I feel blessed to have a loving family, and our home sweet home.

Thanks to all who made it possible. Love every single one of you.

(:( Don't understand why there is a difference in size between Alvis' photo collage and mine? :( SOb.... I will try to edit and re-upload when I have the time.. Hope you guys don't have to strain your eyes too much looking at Alvis baby's photos.. )

Happy 29 Months Old to Alvis baby!

I made a mistake in the previous post. He is turning 29 months old today and not 28. :P

Anyhow, I still find myself counting and remembering all the 18th of the months even though 2 years 5 months have passed. I don't really put his growth against any chart or guidelines because I believe each child grows at their own pace and every child is different. I always love to let him learn in the most fun way possible.

At 29months old, he is very verbal and has been starting to speak at a very young age. Because my aunt speaks to him mostly in Mandarin, he is very well versed in Mandarin which I am proud of. He speaks so fluently in sentences so much so that I forgot he is only 2yrs and 4 months old. He learns most of his vocabulary in English and can speak in English sentences too. Out of the 26 alphabets, there are still a few that he cannot recognize but honestly speaking, I do not go through the chart with him so often to make him remember.

He loves cars. His love for cars is unexplainable at such a young age. Maybe it runs in the blood. Hubby loves cars. The number of cars models that Alvis can remember is way more than how much I know about automobiles. He can also easily spot any car he likes from a very far distance and me and Hubby always have to ask him "Where?".

He greets everyone readily and knows who to address as what. He never fails to say Good Morning Mommy, Good Morning Daddy every morning and he is very generous with his kisses and hugs. He sometimes strokes our heads too and pats us gently when we hug. He is a little sweetheart and will always pout his lips ready for me when I say I want to kiss him. :)

I always make it a point on the 18th of every month to thank whoever I need to thank for making every part of my motherhood rewarding and enjoyable. The no.1 person I need to thank greatly is no other than my husband. We created this gem and have always been proud of it since then. Never will I forget whatever he has done as a husband and a father. All the nightfeeds, diapers change, bath times, play times he has done with Alvis baby, all the household chores we always do together, the toilets he washes every week, I am definitely, certainly proud of him.

I bet Alvis baby is proud of such a daddy. May Alvis baby always be happy growing under our arms of love and care. May he continue to grow healthily, strong and safe. He will always be our bundle of joy and of what we have learnt from him, it's priceless.

Weekend @ Mid-Month!!

15th August, Sunday. Hubby was off! Happy Sunday!

Initial plan was to go to Fidgets or Go-go Bambini, but we left home late thus couldn't make it to either playground early and it was already Alvis' lunch time.
So we headed down town again, to Raffles City.

Tried out this HK cafe just beside Shokudo at the basement. I couldn't remember the name of the restaurant, but food was not bad. Quite nice in fact. :)

Alvis baby had congee with char siew baos. Yummy.

Photobucket

Playing with his cars, like all times, waiting for the food to be served.

Photobucket

Alvis baby, the magician? was he trying to do some magic to make the menu rise? haha..

Photobucket

Photobucket

Vain me. :P Yea, I do my make-up anywhere, anytime. Haha...
I don't have the luxury of time to do my make-up at home and I don't like to waste time at home to do make-up. I usually settle it in the car, but that morning, I was stoning away so I touched up my mascara in the restaurant, while waiting for food to come. LOL.

Alvis baby discovered the menu could be used as a tunnel for his cars..

Our darling boy.

Photobucket

I'm so used to calling Alvis "baby" or "bao bei", and when I call him "darling", he finds it amusing. hahaha..

Peeping at Daddy. :)

Photobucket

Brought along a bottle of Gerber's apple juice for him after his meal.. Loves playing with straw these days.. :p

Photobucket

Love his dimple. It's a trademark in the family. :)

He came across this Little Tikes bowling set and requested to buy it. He rarely asks to buy anything so we obliged since it wasn't too expensive.

And we had lots of fun that evening at home. Cuz it is the lunar 7th month, we will make it a point to reach home before 7.30pm. The bowling set definitely helped to pass time at home happily through having fun!

Alvis baby had a good time bowling, and we laughed so much.

Luckily no one stays below our flat, else I bet they would have came up to complain at the amount of noise the bowling ball and pins were making.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Hubby was the camera man, and I was in charge of arranging the pins each time Alvis baby bowled.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Alvis baby's way of bowling is sitting down with the legs wide open. Haha..
Hubby tried to show him the exact pose to roll the bowl down the alley, but he couldn't balance.

Happy when all pins down!

Photobucket

YAY!!

Photobucket

Bowling Champion!!!

Photobucket

Alvis baby is turning 28months old tomorrow! Hubby is working morning shift so we will be spending the evening together! Yay!! Happiness is simple bliss like this. Nothing more I could ask for.

Remember, little happy things in life can make you go a long way!

Love my two precious, and always look forward to spending time together.

on a side note, pretty much miss the Haagen Daz ice-cream we had together on that day before dinner. We shared a scoop cuz we didn't want to eat too much as it was dinner time and I rarely give Alvis baby sweet stuff. There was this new flavor "Caramel Biscuits n Cream". Do try it out if you happen to pass by any Haagen Daz. It's yummilicious!! Anything caramel to me is LOVE! :P

on National Day...

First time, we did not managed to watch the NDP on TV cuz we were out the whole day. :P

We went to ECP in the morning, or rather close to noon.. The weather was perfect for a day outdoor!
Had breakfast at the super crowded McDonald's there.. It was deafening!

After Alvis baby had his fill, he indulged in his Pocoyo, though he could barely hear anything. Lol.

Photobucket

We felt that his pose was cute! (i wiped the table like twice. haha)

Photobucket

With his sandplay set, ready to go!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Dig, dug, dig, dug...

Photobucket

Very engrossed with the sand..

Photobucket

too busy for any photo..

Photobucket

I left his hat at home, luckily Hubby brought his army hat.. and Hubby got to sacrifice. :P

Photobucket

We thought he looked like a girl.. with the hat.. haha..

Photobucket

Was relieved that he didn't object on putting the hat on him..

Photobucket

Alvis baby and mommy busy with sandplay while Daddy went around to take pictures..

Photobucket

He loves water, but not really the sea water.

Photobucket

Not very comfortable.. We should bring him to the beach more often..

Photobucket

He refused to move.. haha..

Photobucket

turning back to playing sand. haha..

Photobucket

Little gardener..

It got pretty hot after awhile so we washed up (paid 20cents per person for using a running tape outside the toilet, the toilet was waaaayyyy too dirty) and then we headed town.. Alvis baby napped in his stroller and Hubby & I managed to stroll around.. :)

Had dinner and went to Starbucks to chill.. That night was the opening of the lunar 7th month festival, we tried not to go home late..

Photobucket

but just as we were on our way home, almost reaching home I would say, we realised that there was going to be fireworks display at our estate. So we quickly parked our car and got to the field where everyone was waiting for that moment..

Unblock view, totally cooling weather and at a comfortable distance, we watched the magnificent fireworks display with Alvis baby, and that was his first time. :)
