I love to bake

I love to bake, but I am not a real experienced baker. I only bake at my free time, and that's only when I've done all my chores I need to do and after Alvis goes to bed at night. I can't devote afternoon to baking as I usually need to prepare his dinner while he naps and also do some housework.

As we are planning a zoo outing in a few hours' time (Friday), I've decided to bake some banana muffins to bring along even though the bananas were only 'just-riped'.

After reading several banana muffin recipes, I picked the easiest of the lot reason being I don't have alot of time to experiment cuz I could only bake after Alvis sleeps and I don't want to bake till 2am. :p

So, within 1hour (including preparation & baking time), I was done! 12 neat muffins! (ok, 11 to be exact, one was out of shape I ate it straight out of the oven Hee..)

The muffins baking in progress. ^.^

20mins and they are all done!! :D

It's a less-sweet recipe so sugar used was half that of the original recipe, but to me, these muffins are pretty yummy for a first timer already!

Gonna wait for them to cool off totally and store them before I go to bed. An exciting day awaits.

Happy Friday and to all working friends, TGIF!

Lash extensions

Just a quick post here before the little one wakes up from his nap. Life's good to be able to spend quality time with my family, and still look good staying at home! Haha!

Yup, I'm definitely a vain stay-at-home-mum. When I was working full time, I rarely leave makeup out of my daily life. Not that I desperately need makeup to cover any flaws but it's more of like makeup is my accessories. I dont wear much accessories except my usual rings, bracelet and a necklace, so makeup sort of complement my outfit, the overall appearance I'm talking about here. :)

So anyway, since I don't need to leave the house everyday now and not sticking false lashes everyday, I still want to doll myself up! Hence, I went for eyelash extensions!!

It's my second time doing it, first time was many years ago when I was still in the beauty industry. That time my extensions didn't survive long because I had to wear eye makeup everyday thus the daily makeup remover sort of shorten the lifespan of the lash extensions. Had them removed within a short period of time.

Last week, with a recommendation from a friend, I went to have a go at it again and....viola! Loving every inch of it! ;)

My right eye with the lash extensions. Hehe..

Effortlessly, I have sparkly eyes everyday at home now! Totally awesome.

No need for sticking and removing fake lashes for the time being. These extensions sleep with me at night too! :p

If you're thinking of having eyelash extensions done, my advice is do it if you don't have to wear makeup (especially eyes) daily. If you have to, I would suggest sticking false lashes and remove at the end of the day with your makeup instead of doing extensions. Because frequent cleansing will shorten the lifespan of these fragile eyelash extensions. Washing face takes a longer time now with these extensions but I've gotten used to it after 1week. :p

Mothers nag, don't we?

I'm not sure about you, but I sure am quite a naggy mother, I feel. :p

Everytime before I need to use the toilet or take a shower at home when I'm home alone with Alvis (and most of the time if we're home, it's usually just me and alvis), I will give a chain of instructions before I leave him in the living room like:

- do not leave the living room
- do not run about
- sit here and play with your cars until mummy comes out
- do not touch anything else except your toys
- anything call for mummy loudly

Blah blah blah.. This was carried out way earlier, when alvis was only 15months old, ever since we've been staying on our own. When he was younger I could put him on the playmat and told him to sit there while I needed to rush to the toilet.

So anyway, now that he's 3 and talking alot and very much like any adult, as usual when I gave him the above mentioned instructions, he surprised me by saying politely 'Mummy, why are you saying so much? Faster go to the toilet.' that day. Mixed feelings.

I was half wondering if he was trying to say I am naggy, but of course he doesn't know the word 'nag' yet as I don't remember we mentioning the word in front of him, half thinking that my boy is understanding and sensible, trying to tell me that I better not talk so much if I needed to use the toilet badly.

Am I already showing signs of 'nagginess' towards my boy at his tender age of 3? Haha, I'm sure 天下的妈妈都是一样的.

Here's a geeky me wishing everyone a happy weekend! It's a new month, it's gonna be a great month! xx
