15 days of Lunar New Year

We spent the rest of the CNY peacefully and happily..
On 初七, we had dinner and lo-hei at my dad's place. Entire family was there except for mum who needed to work, but it's alright, we saved some for her. :)

Yummy 鱼生 from Imperial Treasure..

It was a great night of family bonding, plus my first ever blackjack gambling session and lost all I've bet on. Haha.

On a random evening after dinner, brought Alvis baby to the playground for some fun. He's been cooped at home for the longest time.

I really enjoy spending time with him. <3

We also took train to get to town to wait for the daddy to finish work on some evenings..

On 初十一 Sunday, we gathered at Anne's house. :)
We all had a wonderful dinner prepared by Anne's mum including the kiddos and they had fun playing with one another.

Then there was the Valentine's Day. We didn't celebrate this year as Hubby needed to work on that day and honestly there is really no need to celebrate as everyday could be Valentine's Day. :)

I was alone with Alvis at home whole day and only got out to the nearest mall to try my luck to get a card. Grabbed a cake from Swensen's cuz I thought it looked really nice, and wanted to give hubby a surprise when he came home that night. He worked late and still went to packed back Boon Tong Kee supper. Upon him reaching home, I ushered him to shower so I could prepare the cake. Off all the lights, lit the candle and hid in the kitchen. Surprise succeeded. <3

We blew the candle out together, celebrating our 9th Valentine's Day together.

A simple Vday, but filled with lotsa love in the heart. So much you can even feel it and smile silly anytime! :P

After a long week at work because of all the lovebirds who had to buy gifts on Vday, Hubby took half day off from work on Tuesday to spend time with me and Alvis. We went to town to wait for him and had lunch at Ambush Taka. It was happy time spent together.

Photobucket

Went to Parkway to repair his damaged iPhone and had dinner at Pu-Tien. Our sorta "last expensive CNY meal" for this year. hur hur..

I am becoming an expert in cars too. hahah! Ok, no la, still far from it. I think my son is better than me still.

Wednesday was hubby's off day (double yay!!!) and the boys went to have their haircut.

Photobucket

In case you're wondering why there's no picture of Hubby having his haircut, well, they both are picky when it comes to hair. They choose their hairstylists and hubby had his haircut at another salon round the neighborhood. Haha.

Oh ya, they dont patronize "attas" salon, they are happy (very happy indeed) with their neighborhood cuts. (yup, me like their neighborhood cuts too. :P )

Happy after his haircut because the hairstylist gave him sweet. :D

And then the daddy went to the optical shop, Alvis had his eyes on a pair of sunglasses. -.-"

Photobucket

And there you have it, cool yeah? :P

Nobody taught him to place the shades on his head! haha..

More vain pictures of him and his new shades.

Happy 兔 Year

I have the least photos this CNY.
1. Lazy to use camera
2. Too engrossed with the actual happenings till no time to get my camera outta my bag
3. Alvis' fever came and go and came and go again - no extra energy and mood for camwhoring. (In the first place, I'm not even into camwhoring haha)

Anyway, we had a great Chinese New Year nonetheless.
We had our reunion dinner at my grandfather-in-law's place. Home-cooked food by Maria was yummy, even little Alvis loved the soup. We also had our first 鱼生right after our dinner. (Alvis had a few crackers, which could be one of the factors that triggered his fever)

CNY Day 1 was the usuals. We woke up slightly late, missed the lion dance at my dad's place (sad) and everyone was waiting for us to move on to my uncle's place in AMK. Love gathering with everyone at my uncle's place, they immediately started a gambling den of blackjack at lunchtime. It's always so happening, like how CNY should be.

Then it was steamboat dinner at my dad's place. Full attendance except for my bro & gf.

And that was when Alvis' fever came back. I suspect it was the crackers he had from the yusheng we had on CNY eve.

We went to my godma's place on the 2nd day of CNY.

Moody Alvis

Photobucket

No more photos for Day 2 because I was pretty tired checking his temperature and it was a rather sleepy day for us. hur hur..

He had lesser angbaos this year because of less visiting, but monetary value did not decrease much. :P

He enjoys opening red packets.

We stayed home on day 3 because hubby went back to work and went to his ex-boss place in the evening for a short while. Day 4 was spent mostly at home and brenda sis' house in the evening. :)

May all have a blessed rabbit year ahead. And do go 拜太岁 if you have not done so. :P

All well once again!

The Lunar New Year is just round the corner, in fact just this coming week, are you all ready to welcome the new year of the Rabbit? I hope we are...

It has been a hectic, tiring and heart-wrenching 2 weeks for us. Alvis baby had slight diarrhea and fever earlier the week before. He went to the PD on Tuesday (18th) and diarrhea stopped on Wednesday. As we thought he had recovered, his fever came back on Friday evening. We brought him back to Dr Low on Saturday morning and was told that he had Tonsillitis, sort of a throat/ear infection. Given some antibiotics and fever medicine, we came home. That very night, his high fever came back and we rushed down to Mount Elizabeth A&E and we were all ready to admit to hospital with our bags all packed, but was told that it was Tonsillitis and there was no need to worry. Sunday he was fine, fever was under control and didn't shoot up until Monday morning at about 5am.

Worried, we brought him to the PD again. This time, I suggested to do the blood test right away. At Paragon, Alvis baby had his first ever blood test. Not just a prick of his finger but a needle that went through his flesh and drew out a syringe of flesh blood. My boy was much braver than I expected. I thought he would struggle, whine or weep, but he did none of the mentioned. He was calm, didn't move a single inch at all, I was the one who didn't dare to look, with my heart aching in me.

The blood test at the clinic came out to a result of high bacterial infection, which was probably why his Tonsillitis was so serious that caused his fever to fluctuate. The result also show a weak positivity in dengue infection, and the PD said that it shouldn't be dengue since his blood platelet is normal with high white blood count. We admitted to Mount Alvernia Hospital to get his infection treated.

At the hospital, they had to poke a needle through his hand so as to inject antibiotics into his body throughout his stay. He was in this room alone with 2 nurses and a doctor. We waited outside, trying to peer and listen to what was going on inside the room, actually to hear if he cry, but I heard nothing. A minute seemed like an hour. Just as I was about to knock on the door, the door opened and I found my calm baby laying obediently on the bed. He didnt cried at all, even without us by his side, I wanted to cry. They did nose swab test for him, which he cried a little because he hates anything to do with his nose.

We comforted him and went back to our ward. That evening, Dr Low came by and said that the blood test did at the hospital showed to be dengue positive. My heart sank. Even with all the anti-dengue campaigns that NEA always educate us, I know nothing about dengue fever, how to look after a dengue patient etc. I was in a loss, sad. PD assured that since he's already in the hospital, he should be fine and well-monitored. There is no medicine for dengue, all they had to do was monitor his platelet count, making sure that it don't drop to too low. My poor little boy was down with 2 scary infections at the same time, we were worried sick.

For dengue fever, usually the blood platelet will decrease and it is very important to not let it fall below a certain range but thank God that Alvis' blood platelet was constant throughout the hospital stay. They did another blood test on him and result was normal before we were discharged. How much we've missed home.

Now he's recuperating at home, I need to build his immunity stronger than before. Dedicated care and rest is all he needs now, together with nutritious food. So, yup, don't worry about us, we're all fine now. :)

Chinese New Year is just a few days away, are all your new year shopping and spring cleaning done? We've spent nights at the hospital, kinda delayed our spring cleaning plan. But we have been pretty efficient and hardworking, these few nights we've been cleaning and throwing away things. Our storeroom is much much neater and has so much more space for many things. Love our crib spanking clean. Our study is also neater and hubby has more space for his gaming pleasure. My wonderful hubby even worked OT to get the kitchen stove-top, table-top, cabinets all cleaned and scrubbed. Couldn't be more thankful, very touched indeed.

That's all CNY is all about. A clean new home to welcome the new year.
久的不去,新的不来。垃圾不丢,好运不来。Hur hur...

Will be back with some backdated pictures, and will definitely blog soon! Take care everybody during this flu epidemic, down loads of water and vitamins!!

Happy preparing for CNY!
