On Father's Day 2010

This post is a little out-dated.. :P

It was the 3rd Father's Day that we celebrated since the birth of Alvis baby and the 1st one that Alvis baby actually said "Happy Father's Day" to Hubby clear and loud (last year he was merely 15months old and still couldnt speak in sentences)..
We usually spend the day quite peacefully, quality family time above all.

Woke up in the morning and prepared Alvis baby's lunch and dinner to bring out..
1st stop - To Marine Parade, Hubby's grandpa's place.. Lunch there and we headed out to Parkway Parade to walk around and Alvis baby napped a good 2 hours there. :)

Dinner was arranged at my dad's place.. so after Alvis baby woke up from his nap, we went back to my dad's place.. Dropped by Pine Garden to get a cake for the occasion since Alvis baby likes blowing cake and I was craving for their Triple Layer Chocolate.

Sis had ordered Sarpino and KFC.. we reckoned it was too crowded to eat out and it would be more comfortable to eat at home anyway..
There were 6 of us and we had 2 regular pizzas, 2 medium pizzas, 8 pieces of KFC chicken, popcorn chicken, whipped potato and coleslaw.

As expected, Alvis baby was super excited when he saw the cake and was happily clapping away..


To the 2 most wonderful men + 1 precious boy in my life. <3

A big THANK YOU to my special Hubby for being such a great dad to Alvis baby. Though I always complain that he shows that he dotes on Alvis too much till he gets a litte out of hand at times, I must say that he is one super daddy. Right before Alvis baby was born, we talked about how both of us should get involved in looking after the child and it's not just a mother's job and responsibility. We also talked about how important it is for father and son to bond. Since day 1, Hubby didn't fail to deliver and I must admit my expectation has always been pretty high.

Since Alvis baby was only less than 2 months old, Hubby learnt to bathe him and we even had a video of his first bath for Alvis baby. Hubby was the first one to carry him after Alvis baby was cleaned right after delivery. Hubby was the one who had helped me at our suite, carrying the baby to me on bed each time I needed to feed. He was the one who stayed right beside me since Day 1, everyday till now (except for his reservist days).

When Alvis baby was still on night feeding, he would wake up each time either to prepare his milk and feed him or help pacify him when I was doing the preparation. During my maternity leave, he would come home right after work and still able to do night-feeding. During our stay with my parents for that few months before we had our own place, he even learnt to prepare Alvis' porridge when I was once hospitalized due to a bad onset of headache. When we had our own place, he would shower Alvis baby on weekends mornings so that I could sleep a little longer and not to mention the sending and fetching to and fro from caregiver's place on his own. Not only had he done his noble part as a father, he also helps out greatly when it comes to housekeeping.

I couldn't ask for more, I know, and I need not ask for more. We have like, the best for us in the world.

Not to forget my greatest dearest dad who has always been the pillar of the family. I hope he will always stand strong, healthy and happy. He is fun loving, humourous, charming, easy-going, modern and understanding. He's the best dad in the world and I may not be able to tell you now in words why I think he is the best but people who knows my dad know that he is the best in the world.

I want to spend each and every single Father's Day with my 2 men of my life.

I am blessed. And I am very thankful for that.

On Playdate... Quality supercedes Quantity. :)

When we went to fetch Alvis baby from my aunt's place last evening, we brought Dennis back with us for a short playdate while my cousin went out to catch up with her ex-colleague..

It was only Dennis' 2nd or 3rd time coming to our place.. So sad that they will be flying back home on Saturday already... Hope that they will be back to visit again very soon..

Anyway, he was very excited to see different toys and all looked new to him.. Once he came through the doorway, he quickly sat himself down and was already busy with the toys before I could even change into my home-clothes. :P



Boys will always be boys. Definitely target auto-mobiles. :)





I think he was saying that he had that same car back home in Jakarta. Hee...

LOL! I can't stop laughing at this, seriously. Hahaha.. He was having running nose previously and the mucus has dried and he refused to let me clean his nostrils except to indulge in self-digging. I must admit I cannot stand this, but I don't know what I can do. hahaha..

As it was about time for Dennis to go back to my aunt's place for bedtime, I gave the boys some cereals to munch on while they calm themselves down and watched a little of Mumuhug on JimJam...

It was fun and time spent together was enjoyable. Alvis baby didn't want Dennis to leave and I had a hard time settling the little fellow.. But still, they enjoy each other's company and I hope they will be able to play together very soon...

Hope that our planned trip to Disneyland Hong Kong in September together will be confirmed soon and I am definitely looking very forward to it. Miss Hong Kong so much!

Gonna be at a company's event tomorrow morning, gotta turn in soon.. Feeling really satisfied to do some chores and to see a neater home. :) Next up, I shall plan breakfast menu every day weekly. I am going to try to make it a point to have breakfast together every morning before we leave for work. We are always in a rush, but I know if we want to do it, we can do it.

What's Up

Am at work currently and it's lunch time... The office is peaceful, quiet and I really love time like this. :)

Last night was great, it had been so long since we went out together...
As my cousin is in town for the last week, we went for a KTV session. As we were walking out of the carpark, it really felt like the good old days when we were still young and Ang Mo Kio was like our weekly hang-out place. Every Sunday we would go to AMK Central because it was just a few minutes walk from my late Grandmother's place. The place where we spent our weekend childhood days, where we grew, laughed and played. Fond memories, tons of them. I guess we made each other's childhood extraordinary, special and unforgettable.

Anyway, ya, there was this kinda feeling last night and it was great. We sang our hearts out and had so much fun in that small little entertainment room with 2 microphones and a not-so-big-TV. It was my very first time to Kbox at AMK Central and I didn't quite like the facilities. I expected better standards, but well, I guess the company is all that matters. <3

We took lotsa pictures using a very old camera and everyone was commenting on my poor self-taken shots. O.o *roll eyes* (do I have to be a pro at it?) haha! I think you can find the least self-taken shots of myself comparing me with all the other girls. But wanting to do well in ANYTHING, haha, I gave myself a little 'intensive training' while waiting for my turn to sing. :P

Well, I can only upload the photos tonight when I get home on my laptop. :) So stay-tuned for my super beginner self-taken shots! :D

We sang so much and some really old songs that I will laugh at the thought of it. It was a really enjoyable bonding session. Hope the next one is not too far away.

On my Alvis baby:

Alvis baby is turning 27 months old in another 2 days' time. Time flies and sometimes I think not enough. There are so many things I want to do with him but I am always limited to the time after work and weekends. Wish weekends could be longer, a wish that may not come true, but no harm to keep wishing.

Am in the midst of sourcing for a school for Alvis baby. Have actually already registered him for one, Mommy still is having that 'un-sure' feeling but I guess the best thing to do is to let him go and try for himself. Nothing beats experiencing it on his own. I hope he will love going to school and learn as much as he can.

Alvis baby has always been speaking quite well, he picks up languages fast and remembers words and everything like he has some kind of a super brain. I'm not saying my kid here is a genius but I am always amazed by how he learns every single thing from me and put them to use without prompting and no pressure.

I always like to ask him "Alvis, what is this?" and I will say "Alvis, this is a ____". I feel these are proper sentence structure that I need to inculcate in him so that his foundation is well-laid. He has been trying to speak in sentences since very much younger and I am glad he has learnt to use "This is a ____" just like me since last week, when self-reading on his own. Sometimes he has forgotten to use "BECAUSE" with "WHY" but I think I can be a little too ambitious sometimes. I don't think I know how to speak like this when I was merely 2 years old.

Alvis baby can recognize alphabets A-Z and go through the whole chart reciting "A for Apple, B for Baby, C for Car, D for...." and so on all the way to Z unassisted. He is also self-feeding himself lately but Mommy still does proper lunch and dinner feeding sometimes to ensure that he eats his food warm. He loves to self-feed snacks, fruits, drinks, proud of him my precious boy.

Alvis baby can sing pretty well too. Out of all the nursery rhymes he listens in the car, I think he can remember the lyrics better than I do. If I sing wrongly, and he would even point me out! This little sweetheart talks every single minute and I sometimes wonder if he ever feels out of breath. Makes me miss his voice alot especially at work.

Alvis baby has also learnt to greet us in the morning with "Good Morning Mommy" and "Good Morning Daddy" each time he wakes up. I hope he can be generous with phrases like "I love you" though, without having me to tell him that first. He knows what that means and he knows when to use it but I guess being a boy, sometimes they may appear to love their cars and trains more than they're interested in us naggy mothers. haha!

The list goes on and on, how I really wish that I could record him 24/7 so that I can look back on every single detail in his little life now.. That will be so precious and so priceless...

2 things that I want to try out with him really badly is Play-Doh and LEGOs. I used to play Play-Doh when I was a little girl, I guess it'll make a good family activity. We could all sit down and play for hours. I hope he will be clean with the doughs and I hope he will enjoy it as much as he enjoys playing with his trains and cars. As for LEGOs, yes I know many little kiddos are already playing with them but because I didn't sense any interest from Alvis baby thus he has yet to own any LEGO set. Shall shop for his very first one very soon, and hope he will like it as much too.

New book addition: Eric Carle's A House for Hermit Crab because Alvis baby likes hermit crabs so much from the TV series: Mumuhug. :)

Bubbly Fun

Yesterday we went to Pasir Ris Park in the late afternoon after Alvis baby's nap...
When Alvis baby drifted off to sleep, I went to the supermarket to get some stuff for his dinner and ended up spending 1 hour at the mall walking around and looking at some other things.. :P
But still, I managed to get some good celery, broccoli, avocado, asparagus and some other ingredients for his dinner..

I bought a bottle of Buzz Lightyear bubbles a few days back. Alvis baby has been requesting to buy bubbles but I always didnt quite like the idea as I was worried of the mess and whether or not he will accidentally put the bubble solution into his mouth. I guess we just have to be careful and he should be fine under our supervision every second. :P

So off we went to Pasir Ris Park, nearer to home compared to ECP and we didn't want to travel the distance as it was meant to be a R&R evening.. Reached the park at slightly past 5pm and Alvis baby was so happy to see the beach, the kites and the bicycles.

Alvis baby got crossed with Daddy when he was adjusting the camera functions because he wanted to hold his hand and walk. :)


We found a spot and then started our bubbles-blowing session!

Dinner was at Pizza Hut Tampines. Famished. Ordered thin crust pizza but a regular one wasn't quite enough.. :P



As usual, playing with the utensils before the food was served.


It was an enjoyable evening filled with love and laughter. Looking at how Alvis baby enjoyed the bubbles, looks like I might make it a weekly activity, just downstairs our place or at the field where people usually fly kites. How lovely.

Today was quite a relaxing Sunday as well... I went to my dad's in the morning with Alvis then we left at around 5+pm to go to town to wait for Hubby Love to finish work. Had Tori-Q, it's been a while. Met up with Uncle Huat, Alvis baby had so much fun with him.

Came back home, tired.



Hope Alvis baby enjoyed his weekend... I hope the next weekend comes soon.
