For now...

I'm a stay-at-home-mum (SAHM)..
For about a month already, I've devoted all my time on our precious.. It is a pretty big change for I've been working full time after my maternity leave ever since we had Alvis. But when he fell sick about a month ago, it broke our hearts and I decided that he needs all the time and rest at home, for now...

Anyhow, being a SAHM or not, I've always been very conscious about the food he eats.. I guess most mothers are particular about feeding your child right. I've always insisted in giving my child healthy food because I believe whatever he eats now is what he will be when he grows. Just like how I believe whatever I ate during pregnancy is whatever that builds my child.. :)

So, it's pretty easy to prepare Alvis' meals I suppose. These ingredients are my so-called "core" ingredients that you can see most of the time in our fridge:

- Broccoli
- Pumpkin
- Carrot
- Spinach
- Tomato
- Potato
- Fish
- Nai Bai
- Cabbage
- Celery
- Huai Shan

and of course pork and chicken for that extra flavors..

His lunch is usually porridge, sometimes noodles like mee sua or macaroni. And his dinner is usually steamed rice, a soup (Must-have) and another side dish.. :)

An example of his lunch:

Porridge with pumpkin, broccoli and fish.. I think his favorite veggie is the broccoli!

Sometimes he'll have macaroni.. He loves this alot too!

His usual dinner:

Steamed pumpkin & spinach rice with ABC soup.. & his soup menu consists of the following as well:

- Lotus Root soup
- Chinese Cabbage soup
- Huai Shan soup
- Winter melon soup
- White Fungus with quail eggs soup
- Yellow cucumber soup

He loves soup alot, and that's why Soup Restaurant is his favorite restaurant. haha!

They may seem boring to you? hehe, but they sure are nutritional and yummy stuff! I enjoy preparing his meals, and I enjoy seeing him enjoying his food.

This was what he had for dinner earlier:

Yellow cucumber soup with his favorite steamed egg with tomatoes.

and he loved it!

Having said the above, of course he does has his fair bit of 'junk' food like ice-cream when we're out, biscuits and snacks. But the purpose of eating at home is eating healthy so as to balance off whatever we ate out that can never be compared to home-cooked food.

Love my boy, he's our darling. He'll come up to me and say "I love you" randomly when he's in the midst of playing his toys. That never fails to melt my heart. :P

I don't know what decision may come out of us tomorrow, whether I go back to work full-time or not, but for now, I just want to treasure the time I have in the world to be with him. He definitely deserves all the love we can give him.
