August was Amazing - Part 2

Wrapping up fun-filled August now that September has just started..

We went to the Toys 'R' Us Lego Sale at United Square with Crystal one weekday afternoon, with no intention to buy Alvis any Lego set as he's not a very big fan of Lego. But to our pleasant surprise, Crystal bought Alvis a Cars 2 Lego set! Very very nice of her and I was really touched by the gesture. The thought always counts. :)

Alvis was very happy too. He likes Aunty Crystal so much! (with or without the Lego gift) :)

These were his loots for the day.

Happy with his Lego playset. Thanks again Aunty Crystal!

We also went to the Botanic Gardens on one of the weekends..
Lunch was at Nando's @ Tanglin Mall...

*note the magnifying glass he was holding. We went well-prepared!

And this may just look like any ordinary family photo taken at a park/garden...

But spot the similarity:

Photobucket

Yes... It was at the same tree where we took our outdoor wedding photoshoot 5 years ago.. It's been 5 years, and we were back there with our love creation. :P

On an usual afternoon at home, we also do painting, freestyle!

Photobucket

Just doodling with the Crayola paint can make Alvis a happy boy too!

We also watched the long-awaited Cars 2 on 26th August, a day after the movie was launched in Singapore. Not only Alvis was excited, his Daddy & Mommy were equally thrilled! We caught the movie together with Javen & family. Alvis posing with his new outfit for the movie before we left home, together with Max Schnell.

Oh yes, we love the movie!

On the 27th August, we went to the Mister Maker Make-It Show at Forum!
Again, both Alvis and me were very excited. We love to watch Mister Maker on cBeebies on StarHub TV Channel 304. He never fails to amaze us with the things he can craft out of his hands and simple materials.

I was as excited as the kids when he appeared!!

Photobucket

and my camera had to die on me! I was asking myself a thousand WHYs because I did charged the battery overnight. And when I came home that day and re-charged my battery pack, I realized that the adapter was loose hence battery not charged properly. -.- I had to make do with my iPhone camera. Sad.

Photobucket

The last picture from my camera that day of Mister Maker.
However, they allowed photo-taking with Mister Maker for registered kids. I was so happy we could get upclose with him and Alvis could have a picture together with him for keepsake. Thankfully my iPhone wasn't low on batt! Managed to take a decent one when it was Alvis' turn. :)

Photobucket

All was well. And we had fun!

That night at home, we helped Alvis with this sock puppets thingy from Mister Maker goodie bag..

Photobucket

Photobucket

He kept laughing away, no idea why. Probably because the fabric from the sock kept falling as the glue wasn't dry yet. Cute max.

Finally, on the last day of the month, we went to...

Photobucket

I didn't know it was Asia' Favorite Playground. Is it your favorite? (hurhur...)

I was praying the whole night before that day not to rain on 31st.. We had planned a picnic and I baked muffins!

Double Chocolate ones...

Photobucket

Walnut Chocolate Chip Muffins..

Photobucket

24 in total!

Photobucket

My first attempt at Double Chocolate Muffins...

Photobucket

and it was a pretty huge success! :P

We got there first and waited for the rest to arrive at Palawan Beach...

Photobucket

Alvis refused to help us take a picture, so we had to camwhore ourselves.

Photobucket

Haha, ok, not really camwhore.

Super excited Alvis

My boy has indeed grown so much! He used to dislike sand and water, and wasn't comfortable to go topless, not even at home. Now he is a much more confident boy and he knows under what circumstances and situations that he can and will go topless. :D

One of his best friends, Clive. :)

Love having someone helped take family photos for us. :)

We had so much fun and laughters. It was a great outing, a great picnic with great weather and great company! Could be better if more of my girlies could make it. It's alright, there will always be next time! :)

Our August was pretty busy, wasn't it? Heh.. Hope your August was fabulous too!

It's a brand new month and another 4 months to 2012.. How have your year been? Mine have been a little different this year. I quit my full-time job in end Jan to stay home with Alvis. These few months have never been more fulfilling and rewarding. Though I've got lesser time to myself, I really couldn't be more thankful for the time I get to spend with him. Nothing beats watching and growing with him even though sometimes he drives me up the wall with his tantrums.

At 3 years 3 months now, he talks like a big boy, mimic the way I talk and also the way I lecture him. Sometimes he even does it to his daddy and we always couldn't help but to laugh at him. He is definitely a boy with his own mind, he knows what he wants and expresses himself well most of the time. He has no problem with communicating, be it in English or in Mandarin and converse well with almost anybody he is comfortable with.

He loves Cars (Disney Pixar) and cars (ordinary and extraordinary ones). You show him any logo of any car make, he tells you the name. I hope he will remember his multiplications timetable when he needs to know them as good as the way he remembers the car makes and models. :P

The weekend is here, are you going to H&M opening, Comex or Borders Sale?
Wherever you'll be, enjoy yourselves and have a wonderful weekend!
